What is facet joint disease?

Spinal or Facet joints are the joints that connect adjacent spinal bones (vertebrae). These joints commonly develop disease by years of repetitive strain, disc degeneration or minor trauma. This can lead to back pain or neck pain.

This condition is commonly treated with Medial Branch Block followed by Radiofrequency Ablation.

What is a herniated disc?

Herniated or ruptured discs can occur when the rubbery discs between the spinal bones (vertebrae) become compressed and bulge outward or rupture, causing back pain, leg pain or sciatica. 

This condition is commonly treated with Epidural Steroid Injection (ESI). In severe cases, part of the disc may need to be removed, a procedure known as Endoscopic Discectomy.

What is Sciatica?

Sciatica is a set of symptoms that occur when either the the nerve roots of the sciatic nerve is compressed or irritated. This leads to shock-like or burning low back pain combined with pain through the buttocks and down one or both legs, occasionally reaching the foot.

This condition is commonly treated with Epidural Steroid Injection(ESI).  Occasionally Endoscopic Discectomy  might be needed.

What is Spinal Canal Stenosis?

Narrowing or stenosis of the central spinal canal or narrowing of the space from when the spinal nerves exit the spine can lead to back pain, neck pain, numbness or weakness of arms or legs.

The treatment of narrowing depends on the cause. Epidural Steroid Injection (ESI) can sometimes provide symptomatic pain relief.

What is Epidural Steroid Injection?

During epidural steroid injection, a small amount of steroid is injected into the epidural space around the spinal cord and spinal nerves. The anti-inflammatory effects of the corticosteroid is responsible for providing pain relief.
